Red Folders and Planners: Your child needs to bring home his or her red folder every night and return it to school the following day. This is where any homework will be placed as well as graded work that has been returned. The student planner should come home each night as well. Please initial this planner at the bottom for each day so that I know you are aware of your child's homework. If your child has to move his or her clip that day, I will indicate this in his or her planner. We can also use the planner as a means of communication.
Grading Procedures: In third grade, students receive standard grades (A-F). I will also grade using the check, check plus, check minus system. A check plus means that your child's work was excellent, a check means the work was average, and a check minus means that his or her work was below average. NOT EVERY ASSIGNMENT WILL BE ENTERED INTO THE GRADE BOOK.
Homework Policy: Students are required to turn in their homework on time each day. When homework is late, students will move their clip to yellow as well as write the reason for the late work in the Missing Homework binder.
